Over my 20 years of representing clients, one of the most important overarching goals of our work in medical malpractice cases is working to make healthcare safer.
It’s what we do regularly. We think that when we bring and litigate a medical malpractice case, we force healthcare providers to focus on their mistakes and, hopefully, learn from those mistakes so that other patients don’t have to suffer the same as our clients. Safer healthcare is BETTER healthcare—for all of us.
To improve healthcare, we want to provide some areas impacting the quality of care patients deserve.

Medical Malpractice Situations
In this day and age of mass-produced, profit-driven health care, hospitals have become factories where patients are on a medical assembly line. When medical staff are too busy to pay attention and fail to provide the quality of care a patient deserves, avoidable mistakes such as those below can quickly turn tragic.
- Missed diagnosis of an illness or condition, such as cancer
- Foreign objects left behind in a patient after surgery
- Medication administration errors
- Inadequate supervision of patients leading to patient falls and hip fracture
- Not diagnosing and treating an infection like MRSA correctly
In short, most medical malpractice situations arise because healthcare providers fail to do their jobs. You can learn more about additional medical malpractice situations by clicking the button below.
Birth Injury
Your child’s birth should be one of the happiest, most joy-filled moments in your family’s life. Yet, when doctors and nurses fail to do their jobs during labor and delivery, a baby can experience permanent and life-long brain injuries and hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, leading to cerebral palsy.
Some infants require antibiotics shortly after birth. One such antibiotic is Gentamicin. This is a powerful, effective, and cheap antibiotic that treats numerous infections in newborns who need it. However, Gentamicin must be administered correctly and monitored closely and thoroughly. If a healthcare provider fails to conscientiously and carefully administer Gentamicin, an overdose can occur. Gentamicin overdose can cause profound and permanent deafness in a newborn.

Healthcare Issues in Nursing Homes
When life’s circumstances require a dear family member to move into a nursing home, they should be treated as if they’re living in their own homes. Yet, an estimated 5 million elders experience nursing home abuse every year.
Nursing home abuse is preventable. Whether it’s the number of staff available to provide proper care or improperly trained staff, nursing home facilities often fail to protect their residents.
Spotting the signs of assault is difficult. If you suspect physical or emotional abuse has occurred, please call 911. After contacting the police, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
